You have to know where you’ve been to know where you are going. Kappa holds a special place in its heart for Fraternity history, but every association of our organization has unique beginnings of its own. Each plays a part in shaping us today and continuing the Kappa tradition beyond college.
In accordance with the wording of the charter, this Association is the San Antonio Alumnae Association of Kappa Kappa Gamma Fraternity. The Fraternity granted the charter of this Association on February 23, 1937. Membership in the Association is open to any alumnae member of Kappa Kappa Gamma. Our roster includes Kappas who live in Boerne, New Braunfels, Seguin and many other surrounding areas.
For more than 20 years, our Association has sponsored Tablescapes, a two-day celebration of design, entertainment, cooking and craft. Check the "Events" section of this site for more information. Non-profit beneficiaries of Tablescapes have included SA Reads, Seton Home, Snack Pak 4 Kids, and many others. In 2017, Tablescapes honored the San Antonio Alumnae who started Tablescapes in San Antonio: Martha Furhmann, Almeda Hodge, Maggie Houston and Jeanie Wehmeyer. Thanks to their efforts, the event continues to attract delighted crowds who appreciate the eye popping tables and informational speakers.
Aside from putting on Tablescapes and participating in area Panhellenic meetings, our Association typically observes Founder's Day, hosts a Holiday Tea for Kappa actives and their moms, teams up with Pi Beta Phi for Monmouth Duo, and sponsors an annual "Rush Workshop" to disseminate information about recruitment. We are so pleased to send small pledge gifts to young women from our area who join our house all over the nation.
